Welcome to A Cookie Jar

At,  A Cookie Jar, I believe that a good cookie can make your day better. That's why I use only the organic ingredients, to support Canadian produce. Flour, butter and produce  is sourced from local farms.  I do not use artificial flavouring or food colouring I choose to allow the natural flavour and colours to shine through without the chemical enhancements. When you add original recipes into the mix trust me you can taste the difference in just one bite.

Pick up your cookies with a friendly smile.

Our Story

In 2009, my son was diagnosed with a benign brain tumor that rendered him legally blind while he was also placed on the autistic spectrum. Living in the city allowed him to receive his help and support necessary and quickly.  While the prognosis looked grim with the potential of losing his vision permanently, 4 brain surgeries later he has come out on top with better vision than he started and now only visually impaired.  Navigating the system to receive what he needed, when he needed it was challenging and it’s even more challenging for the ones who don’t know where to find it and live out of the range of urban living.

This cookie business became a thought to lend a hand and support to anyone with disabilities who would find it hard to get a job because they live in a smaller community and commute into the city challenging with wait times even longer to get help.

The plan is to bake and sell cookies online with pop up rental spots until a store front is financially feasible, so I can employ and support young adults who have any type of disability in a safe environment. Advancing their confidence and providing coop placement opportunities for surrounding school system would be high on my priority list.

All products are from original recipes I’ve developed or tweaked from family recipes. They will be created by using the best quality ingredients using local farms for the ingredients to support Canadian produce.

Mostly Cookies of all flavours with specialty items sold throughout the year for holidays.
